Congratulations on taking your first steps toward change! Making change is not easy, and I am honored to accompany you on your journey wherever it takes you. In our experience of life we all face periods of difficulty and fight our own internal battles. Whether this is something you have dealt with before or a newer experience for you, I am here to support you and help you find clarity. Wherever your life has taken you, sometimes it’s helpful to be reminded that hope can still be a powerful agent for change. If and when it’s difficult for you to believe this, I will believe for the both of us. Together, we will work on increasing your resiliency to face any difficult times.

When we struggle to achieve a sense of love and belonging with others, or a positive sense of self-esteem, it can cause us to feel dissatisfied with ourselves and with our lives. Sometimes this is the result of certain unresolved experiences in our past. Other times, maladaptive thinking can influence how we feel, the choices we make, and the way we behave in different situations. Uncovering the patterns that show up in our lives can help us gain insight into why we struggle in certain areas and feel this dissatisfaction.

In my work with clients, I focus heavily on building a safe, trusting, empowering relationship, as I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for creating change in therapy. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, I will assist you in building/strengthening important skills and gain insight into yourself and your history as we work towards your mental health goals. I approach my clients from a holistic standpoint, aiming to address multiple aspects of wellness to increase your overall sense of life and self-satisfaction.

I practice from a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and client-centered lens. I believe your particular life experience has informed who you are and how you view and have viewed the world. I keep this in mind in every session. I intentionally use several different modalities in my practice according to what each individual client needs, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), play therapy, psychodynamic and attachment theories, and mindfulness techniques.

I obtained my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University. I completed my clinical training at Medical Lake School District, where I was able to gain experience working with a diverse group of children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health concerns. My clinical strengths include working with depression and anxiety, trauma/childhood trauma, children’s behavioral and emotional regulation concerns, relationship issues, self-esteem, and transitional/adjustment periods. I work with children, adolescents, and young adults, and have experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community.

I am so excited to begin this collaborative journey with you and look forward to supporting you in every way I can.
